Introduction:
Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) plays an important role with preventive approach and fundamental to the practice of planning, management and operation of a business as basic risk management. HIRARC identifies all the factors that may cause harm to employees and others (the hazards); considers what the chances are of that harm and the possible severity that could come from it (the risks); and enables employers to plan, introduce and monitor preventive measures to ensure that the risks are adequately controlled at all times.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of program, participants will be able to:
- explain the importance of OSH Risk Management in achieving zero accident and safe work place;
- tell the elements of an effective hazard identification and control program;
- list the steps in the hazard identification and control process;
- describe the concept of OSH Risk Management at workplace;
- prepare a HIRA List for an organization.
