Risk Management with Process through Design (PtD) & General Principles of Prevention (GPP)
Eastern & Oriental Hotel Penang 10, Lebuh Farquhar, Georgetown, PenangThe Process through Design (PtD) and General Principles of Prevention (GPP) integrate into workplace risk management to achieve a more preventive safety culture, forming core strategies within the Occupational Safety and Health Master Plan 2021-2025 (OSHMP2025). PtD aims to “design out” hazards and minimize risks early in the planning and design stage of a process, product, or workplace. GPP are a set of fundamental steps/ principles to manage risks and protect workers’ safety and health. These principles are based on hierarchical approach to risk control. GPP integrates with PtD and the Hierarchy of Control to provide a complete framework for risk management.
