SUMMARY:CHEMICAL MANAGEMENT AND SPILLAGE CONTROL
DESCRIPTION:Introduction:\nChemicals are used to some degree at nearly every workplace from industrial plants\, to laboratories\, to agriculture\, to maintenance functions\, and even in office environments. Whether chemicals are added as part of a production process\, used to clean or lubricate equipment\, or exist as the byproduct of some other action\, they can pose a hazard to workers. Some are highly corrosive or toxic. Others are flammable\, may oxidize quickly\, or may react with other substances to create a deadly situation. \nWhen chemicals are stored or handled properly\, the inherent risk is minimized. But if something goes wrong and a chemical is spilled\, appropriate action must be taken immediately to prevent injury to workers and others\, and to minimize the potential damage to other materials and facilities. \nThe best way to deal with a chemical spill is to avoid having one in the first place. The key is to follow proper procedures for storing\, transferring\, handling\, using\, and disposing of chemicals. All workers on at workplace should be trained to recognize the hazards and proper procedures associated with every chemical they may encounter\, including the actions they need to take when a spill occurs. OSHA 1994 and Environmental Quality Act 1974 and its related-regulations clearly state that the employees have the ‘right-to-know’ on chemicals used and scheduled wastes generated\, the hazard/risk posed to them\, identify the point of use /discharge and how to handle them. \nLearning Objectives:\n\nTo have proper knowledge in safe management of chemicals at workplace;\nTo understand hazards & risks associated in chemical usage; and\nHow to react to a Chemical Spill Emergency Response.\n\nTarget Group:\nSafety and Health Committee Members\, Emergency Response Team (ERT) Members\, Chemical Handlers\, Safety & Health Officer\, Department Supervisors\, Facilities Members. \n  \n \nDownload Brochure & Registration Form

SUMMARY:FIRST AID AT WORKPLACE
DESCRIPTION:Introduction:\nFirst aid at workplace aims to give a more comprehensive coverage on the understanding and practical guidance as well as the theoretical aspects of first aid to the volunteers and the public based on the concept of prevention. When someone becomes ill or injured\, there is usually a short period of time before you can get professional medical assistance. It is that length of time that is most critical to the victim. What you do\, or don’t do during that period of time can make the difference between life and death. It has been shown that proper initial handling of the accident victims contributes significantly to the final outcome and often determines if a life could be saved. This program will impart the basic practical knowledge of First Aid and CPR. \nLearning Objectives:\n  \nBy the end of this program\, participants should be able to: \n\nRespond to emergencies safely;\nUnderstand basic first aid principles and its procedures;\nTo recognize\, assess and support the most common emergencies until professional help arrives;\nBe aware of the importance of proper safety procedures; and\nIdentify common injuries at the work place and how to deal with them.\n\nWho Should Attend:\nOSH Practitioners; Security Managers and Personnel; Human Resource Managers and Personnel; Safety and Health Committee Members; Emergency Response Team Members; All levels of employees and interested individuals. \n  \n \nDownload Brochure & Registration Form
